Henricus W. Ismanthono, lahir di Magetan pada 1944. Menempuh masa kuliah di Malang, Henri memperkaya kompetensinya dengan aneka kursus pendek di luar negeri di bidang Metode dan Manajemen Pelatihan, Linguistik Terapan khusus Bahasa Inggris, mengambil diploma di TESOL; juga mendalami bidang Kesadaran Lingkungan, Diplomasi, serta Konferensi Pers di dalam negeri.
Henricus adalah dosen senior dengan pengalaman lebih dari 40 tahun sejak 1967, termasuk mengajar pelatihan bahasa Inggris. Sebagai pegawai di kementerian, ia membantu pengembangan personalia di beberapa kantor, dengan mengirim beberapa dari antara mereka untuk menempuh pendidikan di luar negeri melalui sokongan sponsor; ia juga terlibat dalam penulisan materi kursus, pengembangan kurikulum, penulisan artikel di media-media massa.
